Vowels

We have begun talking about vowels and that each of the vowels make two sounds. Below is a cute video that we watch in class to reinforce the vowel sounds.

Musa's Birthday

Musa donated a book to our classroom library in honor of his birthday! The kids really enjoyed it. Thanks Musa!

Pumpkins pumpkins!

Here are some pictures from our pumpkin day! Thank you to Mr. Smith who helped us cut open every pumpkin. We used our five senses to observe the outside and the inside. We had a blast!

Third Grade Buddies

We met with our third grade buddies last week. We read a story and then completed an activity with our buddy's help. When we were done, each child's buddy read to them.

Columbus

Below are some pictures from our week long study of Christopher Columbus. We made the Nina, the Pinta and the Santa Maria. We also made hats that went along with each tables corresponding boat!

Respect

Our moral focus this month is respect. As I emailed last week, we have been utilizing our debugging strategies. Last week we also talked about how our words and actions could hurt someone. I presented the construction paper heart to the students and we shared stories when our feelings had been hurt. I then crumpled the heart and explained the saying written on it. We are being more careful and respecting each other!
