Student of the Month

Nathan was our student of the month in November! He displayed gratitude in many ways. Congrats Nathan!!

Morning Assembly

It's not just every morning that we get to go to assembly but this morning we had a special guest! A sheriff from Washtenaw County came in and spoke about rules/laws and why we follow them.

Comparing Weight

We talked about one of the easiest ways to compare weight of two objects is with our hands. Sometimes we don't have a scale or balance on hand (pun intended)! We went on an object weight hunt in our class.

Science! Measuring in Non-Standard Units

One of the first ways students learn to measure is with other objects. We worked hard today making sure we started measuring at the bottom of our feet to the top of our heads! We then finished our lesson with a conversation surrounding how this was a difficult task and why we don't normally measure objects this way.

Chester the Dog

Chester is a therapy dog that visits our school on Fridays. We may get the privilege to read to him or hang out with him in the future. Chester is a retired leader dog and is hypoallergenic. It makes him a perfect candidate to visit schools and hospitals to work with kids just like us!

Library

We were able to check out a book from our school's library for the first time Friday. Remember that Ms. Morton told us our book "lives" and "sleeps" in our backpacks to keep them safe. Don't forget to being the books back on Friday so that you can check out a new one.

Student of the Month

Daylen was our student of the month because he has showed respect, our monthly moral focus, consistently with his peers as well as teachers. Great job!!

Patterns and Sorting

Our unit in math has been focused on patterns and sorting. Below are some pictures of the students in math centers this week.
